Just a Pinch of Love

So, after I posted about the drunken, club bachelorette party that is not going to happen thanks to the demise of Pleasure Island, I learned about this alternative idea that another traveling bride had enjoyed. The fact of the matter is that this bride (like myself) was not lucky enough to have geography in her favor. Her family and friends were all over the place, so while she got to see them all at WDW for her wedding, she didn't have the bridal shower or bachelorette party that generally comes when you get engaged.

So, as a substitute, her family/friends did this really amazing thing and I love this idea. It's one of those things that would also be a great Christmas gift or a gift for someone who is moving or going to school for the first time. They all collected recipes and pictures of the foods they were sending in and then had them made into a book for this girl. So she got contributions from all sorts of people, with little notes and helpful hints about keeping house and making marriage work. Isn't that the cutest idea? It's like a little personally designed Betty Crocker. The company that they went through is called The Secret Ingredients, but I personally would have gone with Blurb.com because I like their recipe layouts. I serisouly might steal this idea for the holidays. It's such a good way to stay connected, plus I love how old-fashioned-meets-high-tech the whole thing is.
