Because just one dress will never do

I'm wedding dress shopping again. Or, to be more exact, I'm reception dress shopping. I'm wearing my wedding dress to the wedding/reception at WDW, obviously, and I'm really excited about it even though I continue to be a teeny bit too fat for the dress. I love my wedding dress. Shall we take another look at it? Let's:

Love it. I know some brides get married in one dress and then change into another dress for the reception, but I love this dress so much I want to be wearing it for more than an hour or two. It might be kind of bulky when I'm on the dance floor trying to shake my thang, but I don't care. I'm dragging that dress around right to the end.

Unfortunately, I don't think I can rock the dress the second or third time around. By the time we're doing the California and Ohio receptions, I'm supposed to be out of the wedding dress. Donning the dress once again to attend a party would be a little absurd and I think the thing people would always remember about my reception (either of them) is that I showed up in a seriously poofy wedding dress and proceeded to hang out and eat BBQ.

BUT I am the bride, so theoretically I should look like a bride, right? I figure this calls for a nice white dress. Unfortunately, I have no nice white dresses to fall back on and have seen no nice white dresses at any of the shopping malls here in C-bus. And so, I turned to online shopping and was keyed in on a lovely little time saver by Bridesmaid Janean.

She hooked me up with this website from In Style that lets you online shop at a ton of stores all at the same time. You just put in a search query and it brings up a bunch of pictures. When you hover over them, it gives you information like store, price, and colors/sizes available. I completely adore the site and have been obsessed with it since she hooked me up, but I have to admit it almost makes online shopping harder because you have so many choices. For example, a quick survey of their bridal section (perfect for finding discount bridal gowns, btw) led me to find these lovelies:

I don't know, though. Am I looking at dresses that are too formal? Should I be looking for something that looks more like this instead?

Or, since both parties are in February, something like this?

Or should I just try to look nice in something I already own? I mean, I am the bride, but it's not like people are going to expect me to be in wedding gear. Or are they? I have no idea.

  2. Sheena loves the first reception dress. Sheena also apparently likes to refer to herself in 3rd person.

  3. I love that short little dress, but it doesn't come in my size. It could theoretically be my size by the time I'm ready to wear it, but buying dresses a size too small hasn't been working out for me so far.

Carly loves that dress too. Carly also thinks Sheena's been studying a little too hard for the bar exam.
