I was going to post on this last week, but I got side tracked and it never happened. I received a graduation present from my Aunt Teri last week. She bought the Disney scrabooking stuff we had added to our Target registry and sent it over. I love this giant album. I was thinking about using it for our honeymoon album, but as you will see, this is now probably going to be our wedding album. We're also going to have one of those traditional (well, modern-traditional) coffee table books with all the pretty cursive writing and the gold edges, but for the fun all-inclusive week of the wedding, I'll be rocking it with this album. You can't really see the hole punches, but one is a plain mickey head and one is a swirly mickey head. All of this stuff came from Target, which is impressive because it's not the first place I think of when I think of getting scrapbook stuff.
I used to scrapbook all the time. No, I mean ALL the time. I had a huge desk just filled with scrapbooking stuff, which is how I got started on making greeting cards and invitations for people. It's such a Utah thing. They do it other places, but there's seriously got to be something in the water in Salt Lake City that makes everyone scrapbook. After I moved to Ohio (and became a lawyer and therefore boring) I sort of dropped it. I made Kyle a little scrapbook for our (official) one year anniversary but that's really been the extent of it. It is sort of a cheesy, Holly Homemaker kind of hobby, but I love it so I'm excited about getting back into it. I've got great timing, too, because Disney scrapbooking stuff is taking off. If you don't believe me, you should check out the AMAZING selection at
MouseMemories.com. They have the cutest stuff. Now back to my stash...

I actually got this stuff a while ago from my mom, who sent it as part of my birthday present, so I thought I'd share just to showcase a couple of the things I've been saving up. Some of the stuff she gave me went into my blue planning book, but I'm saving these for our wedding/honeymoon albums. I have a huge thing for those Jolee's stickers (like every other scrapbooker in America) and I love that the company does 3D Disney stuff now.
You can't really see them, but the stickers on the bottom are of Mickey and Minnie watching the fireworks. They were my favorite when I pulled them out of the package, so I was really excited when I found a matching album last weekend at JoAnn's RIDICULOUS sale...

I got all of this stuff for about 40 bucks, which is an incredible price. I got the fireworks album and the glitter cardstock stack to use in it for about 10 dollars. A lot of the Disney stuff was on clearance and the prices ended up being even lower than they said they were. The total would have actually been close to 50 bucks, but they were having some sort of grand re-opening and when I walked in I was handed a gift card that turned out to be worth $10. My favorites besides the album and cardstock are the Cinderella stickers in the top corner of the first picture. They're so not what you'd think of when you think of Disney stickers. I also really like the glittery sticker lettering. I don't know quite what I'll do with it, but I'm sure it will be fun. I really, really hope I start having some free time this fall. I have basically not had free time for the last three years and I would love to just zone out, pop in a movie, and make cheesy Disney vacation pages.
